Quick report

Traveling along the Tsaina river flats towards the glacier observed a lot of ski tracks that did not show signs of instability even in terrain steeper than 35°.  Slab avalanche activity that was observed was natural, narrow and shallow  (D1-2) in size and existed primarily along solar aspects.   Above 4000' new snow totals averaged 45-60 cms (18-24 inches) on shaded aspects and were slightly top heavy.

Pit results @5600/W produced ECTN 14 down 35cms / ECTN20 down 40 cms .  No buried surface hoar identified

@5360/N  produced ECTN24 down 50 cms at 3/16 interface.  No buried suraface hoar identified.

Avalanche

Natural slab avalanche activity was limited to soar aspects and were relatively narrow when compared to terrain and ~10-16 inches in depth.
