Tocher ridge

Had a fun but really long day yesterday exploring the ski lines on Tocher ridge, near Emerald lake. The last photo is one I took of the ridge a few days ago from Emerald peak area, with our ski line drawn in. We decided to take the summer trail up the back side, which was long and arduous. It would likely be more efficient to set an uptrack on the front side. Plenty of deadfall on the trails kept things interesting but travel was reasonable with current snow coverage. Our descent line was super fun and clean top to bottom. HS at ridgetop was 150cm, with a pronounced Dec 13 facet layer down 40cm producing resistant planar results and minimal slab overtop.
