Quick report

Went for quick tour on solar slopes today.

Virginia Lakes area experienced solid overnight freeze last night. There was an inch or two of recent snow that had been previously blown around a bit. At 10 AM,  south facing slopes were beginning to soften a little but boot pen was still around 1-5 cm.

Around 11,000 ft, we moved over to a slope with a little more east aspect and found shallow drifts of recent snow up to 4 inches deep, over crust. Snow was more transitional on this high elevation SE facing panel than the softening melt/freeze crust on straight south aspect.

Turns on our descent produced very minimal rollers and surfaces did not become sticky during afternoon.
