SC 14.04 Remaining snow will continue to thaw but remain stable. Cornices prone to collapse. Avalanche hazard Low.

Forecast Snow Stability: The remaining snow will continue to thaw and soften but will remain generally well bonded. Cornice collapse, falling rock and ice will remain a potential hazard around steep terrain. Snow cover will be greatest on higher plateau areas and in North to East facing corries above 900 metres, otherwise very patchy. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Remaining dry with the freezing level above the summits. Fresh Southerly winds throughout the day. Observed Weather Influences: Mild throughout this period. Cloud base was around 800 metres, lifting slightly late morning. Rain during the night but dry during the day. Winds were moderate from the North-West. ObservedSnowStability: The snow is thawing at all levels but remains generally well bonded and stable throughout. Cover is starting to break in many locations with greatest amounts restricted to high plateau areas and in North to East facing corries above 900 metres. Cornices are prone to collapse. The avalanche hazard is Low.
