Avalanche Activity

LO for 11/4. Generally stable snowpack. Low hazard.

Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will remain generally stable. The recent fresh snow accumulations will gradually thaw and consolidate. Some surface instabilities are possible on steep slopes. The avalanche hazard will be Low. Remaining cornices will become increasingly unstable as the freezing level rises.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: It will be mainly dry with the freezing level rising to around 1400m on Monday morning. South-Easterly winds will increase steadily through out the period. Observed Weather Influences: It has been a dry day with the freezing level rising gradually to around 1000 metres. ObservedSnowStability: The old snowpack is frozen and generally stable. Shallow areas of more recent snow are present mainly on steep North, North-East and East aspects above 900m. Overall snowpack stability is generally good. The avalanche hazard is Low
