Forecast Snow Stability: Accumulations of unstable windslab will become more widespread. Areas most affected will be gully exits, coire rims, flanks and crag aprons on South-West through West to North aspects above 950 metres. Localised windslab will develop on steep banks below 950 metres and in other areas due to cross loading. Cornices will build and become fragile in the above mentioned areas. Elsewhere the old snowpack will be firm and stable. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.

Forecast Weather Influences: Snow showers throughout the forecast period, these could be heavy at times. Strong to gale force East-South-Easterly winds will veer to become South-South-Easterly in direction. The 600 metre freezing level will steadily rise to 1100 metres by the end of the afternoon. Observed Weather Influences: A cold day with drifting snow on moderate to strong East-South-Easterly winds. The freezing level was around 700 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Localised accumulations of unstable windslab have developed in wind sheltered locations on South-West through West to North aspects. Areas most affected are around the tops of gullies, corrie rims and crag aprons above 1000 metres. Unstable windslab has developed in other areas due to cross loading. Elsewhere the snowpack is generally well bonded and stable. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
