Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will be generally well bonded and stable with greatest snow cover on North to East aspects above 900 metres. It will gradually refreeze at higher elevations, with a slow thaw continuing elsewhere. Fresh snow amounts are not expected to be significant. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Strong South-Westerly winds become light around dawn and then increase to moderate through the day. Occasional precipitation, falling as snow only on the higher summits. The freezing level will gradually drop from above summit level to around 1000 metres. Observed Weather Influences: It was a mainly dry day with fresh South-South-Westerly winds. The freezing level was just above the summits. ObservedSnowStability: The slowly thawing snowpack is generally well bonded and stable. Isolated wet snow surface instabilities are present mainly on steep North-East to South-East aspects above 900 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
