Forecast Snow Stability: The remaining snow pack will be firm and stable throughout. Any new snow accumulations forming in wind sheltered places on Northerly to Easterly aspects above 800m are not expected to achieve significant depth. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: A cloudy day with frequent showers, these showers will be heavy and perhaps thundery at times, falling as snow above 800m. Storm force South-Westerly winds. Freezing level around 1000 metres. Observed Weather Influences: A mild day with the freezing level above the summits. Gale to storm force South-Westerly winds were accompanied by showery light rain becoming heavier in the afternoon. ObservedSnowStability: There has been a significant snow loss due to the thawing conditions. The remaining patchy snow cover is well bonded and stable with the greatest amounts above 800 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
