Moist snow slides and avalanches are the main danger.

Over a wide area 10 to 30 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, has fallen above approximately 2100 m. The southerly wind has transported the new snow. The new snow of the weekend is poorly bonded. This snow as well as the wind slabs remain in some cases prone to triggering. The old snowpack is well consolidated and its surface consists of loosely bonded snow lying on a strong melt-freeze crust. The high temperatures gave rise to moistening of the snowpack in particular at low and intermediate altitudes. In particular at intermediate and high altitudes there is still a very large amount of snow. Below approximately 2000 m hardly any snow is lying.

In some regions increase in danger of dry and moist avalanches as a consequence of new snow and wind.

As the moisture increases moist loose snow avalanches are possible, in particular at low and intermediate altitudes, especially on very steep slopes, and at the base of rock walls. Sunday: The strong wind has transported the new snow, in particular along the border with Switzerland. Adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas as well as at high altitudes and in high Alpine regions mostly small wind slabs formed. During the day: Increase in danger of dry and moist avalanches as the precipitation becomes more intense. The moist fresh snow and the wind slabs can be released by a single winter sport participant. Ski touring and other off-piste activities, including snowshoe hiking, call for caution.
