Lo esencial

Warm overnight temperatures and light rainfall on Friday will lead to some softening of snow in the upper snowpack. Although not likely to be widespread, watch for loose wet avalanches in steep terrain.

With warm temperatures and a chance of rain, watch for wet and slushy snow surfaces. If you see roller balls and/or observe wet surface snow, be aware of small loose wet avalanches.

Avalanche Discussion

No recent avalanches have been reported.

Currently, the central Oregon snow pack is in good shape. We generally have a right side up snow pack structure. The deep and mid pack are strong. Any avalance problems will be related to surface conditions in the upper pack.
