The skiing and ice climbing have taken a hit with the warm temps and rain. Use caution skiing over the next few days as a new crust forms on the surface.

Scrambling or climbing on dry ground would be possible in some areas near the townsite.

No new avalanches were observed today.

Snowpack Summary

Moist surface snow to at least 2100m. Below treeline terrain and thin areas are moist to the ground. Below this lies a well-settled midpack with basal facets completing the bottom of the snowpack.

Suspect a re-freeze will begin in the next few days, leaving a widespread crust on the surface up to at least 2100m.
