The shallow early season snowpack is mostly stable and avalanches are unlikely. Backcountry users who venture into steep north facing couloirs and cliff areas could trigger small isolated pockets of slab up to one foot in depth.
Avalanche Discussion
Clear skies and a temperature inversion are expected under a high pressure ridge. Temperatures at 10,000 will rise into the mid to upper 30's on Friday. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW. The snowpack is mostly stable and avalanches are unlikely. Backcountry travelers who venture in cliff areas and steep north facing couloirs could trigger isolated pockets of slab up to one foot in depth. Wet loose sluffs are possible from sunlit cliffbands in the afternoon.
