Lo esencial

The general avalanche hazard is LOW. Above 9,000 feet isolated pockets of slab up to 18 inches deep lie upon weak, old snow surfaces. Backcountry travelers still have some potential of triggering these slabs in steep, wind-loaded starting zones. Below 9,000 feet, a shallow snowpack quickly transitions to bare ground and avalanche activity is unlikely.

Avalanche Discussion

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )Mostly cloudy skies, along with windy and unseasonably warm weather are forecasted for Western Wyoming on Monday. Mountain temperatures are expected to remain near freezing as the valley rises into the upper 40s. Southwesterly ridgetop winds should range from 20 to 30 mph.In the Teton area, the General Avalanche Hazard is MODERATE at the upper elevations where pockets of both shallow surface slabs and deeper hard slabs could be triggered by backcountry users. The General Avalanche Hazard is LOW in the shallower snowpacks of the Greys River and Togwotee Pass regions.
