Avalanche Summary

Dangerous avalanche conditions exist. The most dangerous slopes are where new snow and wind combine to overload deeper weak layers on northwest through north to east-facing slopes, mostly near and above treeline. You can also trigger a smaller avalanche in recently wind-drifted snow but the larger hazard is a smaller slab avalanche stepping down to weak snow near the ground and growing large enough to bury you. Avoid traveling on steep slopes facing these aspects of concern. Wind-sheltered slopes below treeline with less than a foot of snow on them or south and west-facing slopes offer safer travel options.
