Lo esencial

At the mid and high elevations, the chance persists for backcountry travelers to trigger dense slabs to two foot depths. This is most likely to occur in very steep and rocky avalanche terrain when a shallow and weak point in slope is impacted. Avalanches at low elevations are unlikely today except for in isolated pockets in very steep terrain features.

Avalanche Discussion

Cloud cover and the chance of snow showers will increase during the day on Sunday. Mountain and valley temperatures will rise into the mid 20s. Strong southwesterly ridgetop winds will range from 25 to 35 miles per hour, with gusts to 50.The general avalanche hazard is expected to be MODERATE on Sunday. Backcountry travelers venturing into very steep terrain with a base of faceted snow might be able to trigger dense slab avalanches up to two feet deep in areas that have not seen recent avalanche activity.
