Lo esencial
New snow and wind have resulted in soft slabs to three feet in depth at upper and mid elevations. Under these slabs lie shallow slabs from a recent storm and hard crusts. These slabs could easily be triggered by backcountry users today, particularly on steep leeward slopes and in cliff areas, and not necessarily by the first person on the slope. Reports continue to come in of skiers being caught in slides. Yesterday someone was swept over a cliff in Rock Springs by a small slide triggered by his friend, he was not injured. Avalanches at lower elevations are unlikely today where little snow was recieved and avalanches are unlikely.
