Pockets of soft slab up to two feet in depth exist at all elevations and could be human triggered today. Light density snow and buried surface hoar exist upon good sliding surfaces at the base of these slabs. Yesterday afternoon a skier triggered an 18 inch deep slab on a roadcut in the Mail Cabin Creek drainage and was completely buried except for one hand. Similar events could be triggered today. Backcountry travellers should use caution today and avoid steep avalanche prone terrain, steep banks, roadcuts, wind loaded cliff areas and be aware of terrain traps.
