Forecast Snow Stability: New snow amounts are not expected to be significant mostly a very light dusting over the summits. Some very shallow windslab may develop on North-West to North-Easterly above 900 metres. These new deposits are not expected to be deep or extensive. The snowpack will be generally well bonded in most places. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: The temperature inversion will persist until Friday morning giving another frosty start to the day. The freezing level will generally be around 1000 metres. Mainly dry through the period with some precipitation arriving later in the afternoon falling as very light snow mainly above 900 metres. Southerly winds will strengthen through the day becoming South-Westerly. Observed Weather Influences: Today was dry, calm and bight with good visibility. The temperature inversion gave plus 4 degrees Celsius at 1000 metres, whilst minus 3 degrees celsius at 350 metres. The ground is frozen hard and covered with a frost at all levels, under foot conditions are icy in many places. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is generally stable in all locations and elevations. The avalanche hazard is Low.
