Lo esencial

Wet avalanche concerns have ended as both the temperature and wind forecast are expected to keep snow surfaces frozen. The avalanche danger is LOW (1 of 5).

Avalanche Discussion

Each 24hr period looking towards the weekend has a chance for some snow to accumulate. Nothing looks to impressive, but we can keep our fingers crossed that an inch of snow gets stacked on another inch of snow and turns into a couple of inches. Add another inch onto that and we'll be up to a few inches!!! Temperatures are forecasted to remain below average into the start of the weekend, so the avalanche danger will likely be driven by new wind slabs if enough snow accumulates. Fingers crossed that we see some snow accumulate and freshen things up over the next few days.

Over the last couple of weeks, we have seen numerous wet avalanches and some good melt-freeze cycles. With relatively cool temperatures in the forecast, the upper snowpack is expected to remain locked up with little threat of new avalanches releasing below the snow that accumulates this week.
