Snowpack Structure

A lot of snow is lying at intermediate and high altitudes. The snowpack remains generally moist. Weak layers exist in the snowpack.

Tendency

The weather will be clear at times.

Avalanche Activity

The weather conditions gave rise to softening of the snowpack. Over a wide area precipitation.

In all aspects large and, in isolated cases, very large moist and wet avalanches are possible. In steep rocky terrain and adjacent to ridgelines more moist and wet snow slides are possible. Gliding avalanches can be released at any time of day or night. Areas with glide cracks are to be avoided. Even single winter sport participants can release avalanches. Backcountry touring calls for experience in the assessment of avalanche danger and careful route selection.
