Lo esencial

Even with Sunday's very warm temperatures we haven't been observing much avalanche activity.  Monday will be cooler, meaning that avalanches will be even less likely.  Low hazard doesn't mean "no" hazard and Wet Loose avalanches will still be possible on steep South slopes below treeline.

Even with temperatures climbing to 50 degrees at Treeline today we saw relatively little to no avalanche activity!  This is due in part to the stout rain crust that exists on many open slopes (it takes a lot of heat to melt through that thing!).  We can also credit the low sun angle.

Wet Loose avalanches will be possible on steep South slopes at the lowest elevations.

Avalanche Discussion

We've had a few days of good spring skiing on sunny open slopes, with a full grab bag of surface conditions as you stray from sunny slopes or dip below treeline.  There have been no observations of avalanche activity.
