The snowpack is mostly stable. At the high elevations, isolated pockets of soft slab formed by recent strong winds lie in some steep avalanche slopes. These slabs could be human triggered in isolated areas or in extreme terrain. Remember that low hazard does not mean no hazard exists and even a small avalanche can knock people over and carry them through rugged terrain or down long confined paths such as couloirs. Avalanches are unlikely at the mid and low elevations today.

Skies will be partly sunny on Thursday as some clouds hang over the higher elevations. Temperatures will be a few degrees warmer than today. Winds will be westerly at 15 miles per hour with higher gusts.The general avalanche hazard is expected to be low. The snowpack is mostly stable. At the higher elevations small slab avalanches could be triggered by humans. Even very small avalanches can be dangerous in extreme terrain. Although unlikely a remote chance for a high marking snowmachine to trigger a large slab avalanche may exist in the Togwotee Pass and Greys River forecast areas.
