Forecast Snow Stability: Poorly bonded windslab will gradually build throughout the day becoming more widespread and deeper on North through East to South-East aspects. Mostly building in wind sheltered places above 800m with coire rims, ridge flanks and gully tops most affected. Cornices will also build here. Some isolated accumulations of windslab may form at lower elevations in steep banks and gully lines. Elsewhere snow cover will be thin and on bare ground. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Freezing level around 900m Friday evening then rising well above summit levels in the early hours before lowering to around 600m through Saturday. Precipitation falling as rain to summit level overnight, then turning to steady snowfall above 500m throughout the day. Winds gale to storm force South-West to Westerly throughout the forecast period. Observed Weather Influences: A mild day with strong South-Westerly winds Rain turning to sleet at high elevations. ObservedSnowStability: The majority of snow cover has been lost in the thaw conditions. Some deep moist and unconsolidated snow lies in wind sheltered North- East to South-East aspects above 800m. This is confined to specific places such as coire rims and ridge flanks and is generally stable. Elsewhere, snow is patchy with many areas bare. The avalanche hazard is Low
