Forecast Snow Stability: Cold conditions will re-freeze the old snowpack. New snow and Westerly winds will form areas of windslab in sheltered gullies and on slopes with a North through East to South-Easterly aspect mainly above 850 metres. Stability will be poor where these accumulations achieve a significant depth or where old re-frozen snow underlies. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: A strong cold Westerly airflow with frequent snow showers will affect the area overnight and through Friday. The freezing level will be around 400 metres. Observed Weather Influences: Mild and wet with strong Westerly winds. The freezing level was above the summits. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is much reduced with continuing mild and wet conditions. Greatest accumulations remain in the high Northerly and Easterly corries. The remaining snow cover is soft and moist and stability is generally good at present but may change with new snow expected towards the evening. The avalanche hazard is Low.
