The old wind slabs of last week can be released by a single winter sport participant in isolated cases. They are lying on weak layers on very steep northwest, north and east facing slopes above approximately 2100 m. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls. The avalanches in these loacations are rather small. In addition in places that are protected from the wind, individual small dry loose snow avalanches are possible. The conditions are generally favourable for backcountry touring and other off-piste activities.

Wind-protected shady slopes: The upper section of the snowpack consists of faceted crystals; its surface consists of loosely bonded snow. Steep sunny slopes: The surface of the snowpack has frozen to form a strong crust and will hardly soften at all. In steep terrain there is a danger of falling on the hard crust. In all regions a lot of snow is lying for the time of year. Snow depths vary greatly above the tree line, depending on the infuence of the wind.

As a consequence of new snow and strong wind the avalanche prone locations will become more prevalent during the course of the night.
