The new snow and wind slabs of the last few days represent the main danger. The wind will be moderate to strong over a wide area. Slab avalanches are possible.
More snow than expected has fallen in some localities. The wind will be moderate to strong. The fresh snow of the last few days and the wind slabs to be found above all in gullies and bowls and behind abrupt changes in the terrain can be released, especially by large additional loads,. Avalanches can in some places be released by small loads and reach medium size. The wind slabs are clearly recognisable to the trained eye. In many places there is a danger of falling on the hard snow surface.
The fresh snow of the last few days and the sometimes deep wind slabs must be evaluated with care and prudence. The new snow is lying on a crust. As a consequence of the strong wind, the snow drift accumulations will increase in size during the next few days. The snowpack remains subject to considerable local variations.
The avalanche danger will persist.
