Forecast Snow Stability: Localised areas of unstable windslab will be present with greatest accumulations on North-West through North to East aspects above 800 metres. There will be a period of poor stability during the day as the temperature rises and snow turns to rain. In other locations the snowpack will remain generally stable. Cornices will be prone to collapse. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: Occasional snow showers in the evening will die out to give a dry cold night. Further snow showers starting before dawn will turn to rain at all levels in the afternoon. Fresh Southerly winds will back to become South-Easterly in direction and reach gale force overnight, easing during the day. The freezing level will rise above the summits during the day. Observed Weather Influences: There were fresh South-West winds and occasional snow showers. The freezing level was around 600 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Localised areas of poorly bonded windslab are present mainly on North to East aspects above 800 metres. In most other locations the snowpack is well bonded and stable. Debris from a skier triggered avalanche was observed on a North-East aspect at 950 metres. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
