Avalanche Activity

Heavy precipitation. The new snow and wind slabs can be released easily or naturally in all aspects.

In all aspects small and medium-sized natural avalanches are possible as a consequence of new snow and wind. The avalanche prone locations are to be found at the base of rock walls and behind abrupt changes in the terrain and adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls.

Snowpack Structure

Up to 50 cm of snow will fall above approximately 2200 m. The new snow is bonding poorly with the old snowpack. The fresh wind slabs are barely recognisable because of the poor visibility. The sleet will give rise in the late morning to a loss of strength within the snowpack over a wide area below approximately 1800 m. On south facing slopes below approximately 1800 m hardly any snow is lying.

Tendency

A little new snow. The starting zones have released the snow to some extent.
