Avalanche Summary

You can easily trigger an avalanche where you find newly drifted snow below ridgelines and along gully walls. They may release naturally. Avoid rounded pillows of firm snow that may crack when weighted. If you experience cracking head to lower-angled slopes or those without wind-loading. You can reduce your chances of triggering a deeper slide by avoiding rocky areas and traveling where the snowpack is consistently deep.
