Lo esencial

During the past week numerous large DANGEROUS soft slabs up to four feet in depth have released naturally or been skier triggered on a variety of aspects at all elevations. Two days ago a large natural release on the southern aspect of No Name Peak in the southern Tetons occured. Soft slab avalanches are likely to be triggered today especially in cliff areas and in steep wind loaded starting zones. Wet slides are possible on steep sunlit aspects as the day warms. With persistant deep slab instability and five avalanche fatalities so far this season the consequences of deep burial and severe trauma should not be underestimated.
