Lo esencial

At the upper elevations several days of north to northwest winds have formed isolated pockets of surface slab up to 10 inches in depth on leeward aspects. Yesterday a snowboarder was injured in the North Shore area of the Southern Tetons when he was carried over a cliffband after he triggered a 10 inch slab. At all elevations a weak layer of buried faceted snow persist at a depth of one to three feet and is a potential failure surface. With warm air moving in aloft and abundant sunshine in the forecast sunballing and loose snow sluffs are possible on steep sunlit aspects.
