Lo esencial

Falls and stones are the main danger.

Problemas de aludes

  • Gliding snow

    • Todas las altitudes
  • Persistent weak layers

    • Above 2,200 m

Weather Forecast

Saturday night will be mostly slightly cloudy and windless above the valley fog. On Saturday, localised patches of fog with an upper limit of no more than 1000 m may disturb and restrict visibility only near the valley. Otherwise, with very good visibility, the sun will dominate alongside a few thin veil clouds far above summit level. The wind will be mostly light from west to north-west. At 2000 m around 4 degrees, at 3000 m around -2 degrees.

Tendency

Little change, the avalanche danger remains low.

Avalanche Activity

Falls and stones are the main danger.

The avalanche danger is low. Small, spontaneous sliding snow avalanches are possible from very steep, as yet undischarged grass mat terrain. Isolated danger spots for mainly small slab avalanches (old snow problem) are possible in shady high altitudes in very steep gullies and hollows.

Snowpack Structure

The snow depth is well below average for the time of year, low elevations are widely bare. The snow surface is hardened and softens during the day at medium altitudes and also at high altitudes on the sunny side. Inside, the snow cover is moist to wet right up to high altitudes. In shady, high and high alpine locations, there are still isolated weak layers of angular crystals in the snowpack.
