Lo esencial

No big change in avalanche conditions since Saturday.

The overall avalanche danger is MODERATE today along the Manti Skyline.

Human triggered avalanches breaking into weak snow near the ground are still a possibility in the right locations. The most likely spots would be on slopes steeper than 35 degrees that have not avalanched yet and face northwest through east.

The weak loose sugary faceted snow near the ground appears to be mostly dormant right now. While it is fairly unlikely to trigger an avalanche that breaks to the ground right now, I still don't trust the stuff. Faceted layers of snow buried deep in the snow pack are notorious for biting you when you think things are safe.

Snow and Weather

Current Conditions: We are in a typical spring time pattern with mild sunny days that make the snow damp and cool nights where it re-freezes. There may be a little cold dense powder left on the highest due north facing slopes.

Mountain Weather: It will be another day of mild weather with high temperatures a bit warmer than Saturday. Highs should reach the mid 40s along the highest terrain. Monday looks similar then cooler unsettled weather moves in for the rest of the week with the chances for snow. We actually might see some decent accumulations add up by the end of the week.
