Avalanche Activity

As a consequence of warming wet small and medium sized avalanches are possible. Ground avalanches are possible however even now.

The older wind slabs and to be assessed critically. Adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls wet avalanches are possible as the day progresses, but they will be mostly small. Above approximately 1800 m small and, in isolated cases, medium-sized ground avalanches are possible.

Snowpack Structure

The older wind slabs are to be found adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls. Sunshine and high temperatures will give rise to increasing and thorough wetting of the old snowpack over a wide area.
