Lo esencial

The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE above 8,500 feet and LOW below that elevation. Warming temperatures will create the possibility for naturally occurring and human triggered wet-loose surface slides on steep, sunlit slopes. Avoid steep, south facing slopes and their run-outs in the afternoon. The heat will also increase the chance for people to release full depth, hard-slab avalanches. The larger slides have been dormant for some time but the loose, faceted snow at the base of the snowpack remains and the stress of a warming snowpack and backcountry users could trigger an event.
