An AVALANCHE WARNING has been issued by the Bridger-Teton National Forest Avalanche Center. Strong winds and snowfall rates of over an inch per hour over the past 10 hours have rapidly increased the avalanche hazard. More snow and wind are expected as a very powerful Pacific storm moves inland. Large natural avalanches are possible and could run full track. TRAVEL IN AVALANCHE TERRAIN IS NOT RECOMMENDED.

Light snow is expected to continue through the night with accumulations of several inches likely in the mountains. Another batch of moisture is expected to bring 7 to 12 inches of addition snow to the mountains on Sunday and Sunday night. Temperatures will be colder; in the single digits and teens. Winds will be southwesterly at 20 to 30 miles per hour with higher gusts. An AVALANCHE WARNING issued by the Bridger-Teton National Forest Avalanche Center remains in effect until Sunday night. The general avalanche hazard is expected to remain HIGH. Natural and human triggered hard and soft slab avalanches are probable.
