Lo esencial

A mostly stable snowpack, comprised of faceted snow and a variety of decomposing crusts, exists at the mid and upper elevations. Widespread and well developed surface hoar also persists on shaded and partially shaded aspects. Avalanches are unlikely today. However, caution is advised in cliff areas and in steep couloirs.

Avalanche Discussion

A low pressure system over the Pacific Northwest will move through the region on Friday bringing increased cloud cover, northwest ridge top winds at 5 to 15 miles per hour, and a trace to an inch of new snow. Mountain temperatures will rise into the mid 20s as the valley climbs into the mid 30s.The general avalanche hazard is expected to remain LOW. Avalanches are unlikely. However, caution is advised in cliff areas and steep couloirs.
