Avalanche Summary

Avalanche conditions will be generally safe Monday morning and rise in the afternoon after a day of warm temperatures and sunshine. If you are traveling on sunny slopes later in the day you can easily trigger a loose avalanche in the wet surface snow. These avalanches can grow large enough to knock you over and take you for a dangerous ride. The easiest way to reduce your avalanche risk while traveling in the backcountry is to start and end your day early and move away from steep, sunny slopes as the snow surface feels wet and your feet sink past your ankles when walking in the snow.
