Lo esencial
New snow and strong Southwest winds have formed soft surface slabs to one foot at the mid and high elevations on steep leeward aspects. These slabs lie upon firm melt-freeze and wind blown surfaces and could be easily skier triggered today. In some areas the potential remains to trigger deeper instabilities near the base of the snow pack which could result in large hard slabs with depths to six feet. At low elevations mostly stable snow exists except in isolated areas such as steep north facing terrain where old weaknesses persist.
