Lo esencial

At the highest elevations about four inches of dense new snow with 0.45 inches of moisture has accumulated on slick old snow surfaces. Along the higher ridgelines south through northwest winds have formed isolated pockets of dense surface slab up to eight inches deep on leeward aspects. Humans who venture into steep avalanche starting zones could trigger these shallow surface slabs. Avalanches are unlikely at the mid elevations. Mostly bare ground exist at the lower elevations.

Avalanche Discussion

Temperatures in the mountains will fall into the single digits overnight. On Wednesday it will be mostly cloudy with periods of light snowfall. Temperatures at 9,000 feet will be in the teens to low 20s. Winds will back towards the southwest at 5 to 15 miles per hour. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW. Avalanches are unlikely except at the higher elevations in very steep, wind loaded avalanche starting zones. Humans who venture into these areas could trigger isolated pockets of surface slab six to 12 inches deep.
