Lo esencial
New snow and wind has deposited new shallow soft slabs at mid and upper elevations that are expected to contain little volume today yet could be skier released in pockets if significant snowfall occurs today. The larger hazard lies with the underlying hard slab that lies on persistent weak faceted snow and crusts near the ground with depths up to four feet. These slabs are not expected to be affected by the new snow yet continue to have the potential to be human triggered, and not necessarily by the first person on the slope but by whomever finds a trigger point. Once released, these avalanches could have severe consequences. At the lower elevations avalanches are unlikely today.
