Lo esencial
At the upper elevations strong southwest winds and new snow has formed new soft slabs up to 18 inches in depth. These slabs lie upon a layer of surface hoar and weak old faceted snow. These slabs are likely to be easily triggered in steep wind loaded avalanche paths and could release naturally. At the mid elevations pockets of soft slab up to one foot in depth could be triggered in steep wind loaded starting zones. Be aware of the potential for natural or human triggered avalanches to enter mid elevation slide paths from above. At the lower elevations the snowpack is very shallow and avalanches are unlikely except in isolated pockets.
