Lo esencial

The general avalanche hazard is Considerable today. New snow and wind combined with snow from a recent storm have resulted in soft slabs to two feet in depth at upper elevations on wind loaded slopes. These slabs could be triggered today by bilers, skiers, and boarders on steep slopes, particularly near cliff and rocky areas. High marking riders should be especially aware as steep slopes may release even after they have been crossed by numerous other riders. Several people have reported being caught in slides over the last few days in the Tetons. Self rescue skills and equipment are essential for safe travel in avalanche prone terrain.
