Forecast Snow Stability: As the temperature rises during the day there will be a period of reduced stability when cornice collapse and avalanches are likely. Most affected will be North through East to South aspects above 900 metres. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.

Forecast Weather Influences: There will be very strong South-South-East winds. After a dry night precipitation during the day will fall initially as snow on the highest summits before turning to rain at all levels. The freezing level will rise above the summits during the day. Observed Weather Influences: It was a dry day with light, mainly South-Easterly winds. The freezing level was around 600 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Instabilities are present in both recent and older accumulations of windslab. These are mainly to be found on North through East to South aspects above 900 metres. Large and fragile cornices are present above these aspects. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
