The region has received 15-20" of new snow on average over the past 48 hours. While the snow has generally demonstrated strength and resistance to sliding, we can't rule out storm slabs as a possibility while the widespread, thin facet layer finishes dissipating. Small storm slab avalanches are still possible on specific terrain features, particularly in steep terrain where the snowpack might be thinner. Today's sunny weather will help settle and strengthen the new snow.
Snowfall of greater than 12" (30cm) in a 24 hour period are a good indicator that storm slab avalanches are possible.
