Lo esencial

Rain on snow will create dangerous avalanche conditions today at all elevations and aspects.  If you are sitting at the snopark and it's raining, you should go home and bake some cookies.

Rain on snow will create dangerous avalanche conditions today.  Roller balls and pinwheels are indicators the snow is becoming wet and losing strength.  Avoid traveling on or below slopes >30 degrees, as even a small wet loose avalanche could push you into a terrain trap.  As rain and meltwater make it deeper into the snowpack the likelihood of larger avalanches will increase.  Stay away from terrain traps, such as creek bottoms, gullies, and slopes leading into heavy timber or cliffs as the chances of survival if caught in an avalanche will rapidly decline.

If you are sinking to your boot tops in wet snow it's time to go home.
