The large quantity of fresh snow of the last few days and the many extensive wind slabs can be released easily, or, in isolated cases naturally in all aspects above approximately 2300 m. In many cases avalanches are large. In all aspects and below approximately 2300 m more medium-sized and, in isolated cases, large gliding avalanches and moist snow slides are to be expected as the moisture increases. Explanation: "these" may only stand for "these avalanches" can as before reach low altitudes and endanger transportation routes. The conditions are critical for backcountry touring and other off-piste activities in steep terrain. The current avalanche situation calls for extensive experience and restraint.

40 to 80 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, has fallen since Saturday above approximately 2000 m. 20 to 40 cm of snow will fall until late in the night. The northerly wind has transported the new snow and, in some cases, old snow as well. The fresh snow and the wind slabs are lying on the unfavourable surface of an old snowpack in particular on northwest to north to east facing aspects. The danger of gliding avalanches and moist snow slides will decrease gradually, but only during the night. In particular at intermediate and high altitudes a very large amount ofsnow is lying for the time of year.

Gradual decrease in danger of moist avalanches as the temperature drops. The new snow and wind slabs are bonding only slowly with the old snowpack in particular on shady slopes above approximately 2300 m.
