Avalanche Activity

The snowpack will be generally stable. Over a wide area only a little snow is lying.

Currently there are favourable conditions generally. Faceted weak layers exist deep in the snowpack. In very isolated cases the avalanches can be triggered in the old snow and reach medium size in isolated cases, especially on very steep north and east facing slopes in particular between approximately 2400 and 2700 m in little used terrain. The avalanche prone locations are very rare and are barely recognisable, even to the trained eye. Very steep south, southwest and southeast facing slopes: In steep terrain there is a danger of falling on the hard crust.

Snowpack Structure

In all regions in all altitude zones only a small amount of snow is lying for the time of year. In particular south, southeast and southwest facing slopes below approximately 2200 m: No snow is lying. Above approximately 2000 m in some localities up to 5 cm of snow will fall. The old snowpack will be well bonded on steep sunny slopes. Faceted weak layers exist in the snowpack on north, northeast and northwest facing slopes. Hardly any more avalanches were reported.

Tendency

In some localities some new snow: The avalanche danger will persist.
