Lo esencial

Relatively light snowfall overnight means that there will be a minimal rise in avalanche danger for Friday.  While unstable snow may exist on wind loaded terrain, those Wind Slabs will likely be too small to constitute a significant hazard.  Even in low hazard watch for unstable snow on isolated terrain features where small avalanches may exist.

With only an inch or two of new snow in the forecast on top of the inch we received today, very shallow wind slabs are possible on lee slopes with a large fetch.  Primarily these instabilities will be too shallow to constitute real avalanche danger.  Nonetheless evaluate the depth of new snow in wind loaded terrain to corroborate my forecast.

Avalanche Discussion

Last week brought no significant new snow, periods of sunshine, and relatively cool temperatures.  This has led to Low hazard for most of the past week and few instabilities.  We have no persistent weak layers in our snowpack.  The current snow showers and resulting light accumulation shouldn't create much in the way of significant avalanche problems.
