Lo esencial

Outgoing longwave radiation during the night will be severely restricted. As the moisture increases moist small and medium sized avalanches are possible. The wind slabs can be released, especially at their margins, in particular on steep shady slopes. Weak layers in the old snowpack necessitate caution and restraint.

Avalanche Activity

Outgoing longwave radiation during the night will be severely restricted. As the moisture increases moist small and medium sized avalanches are possible. The wind slabs can be released, especially at their margins, in particular on steep shady slopes. Weak layers in the old snowpack necessitate caution and restraint.

As a consequence of warming during the day, the likelihood of moist and wet avalanches being released will increase in particular on steep slopes below approximately 2600 m. Dry avalanches can be released in deeper layers also.

Snowpack Structure

The upper section of the snowpack is moist and its surface has a crust that is strong in many cases. Precarious weak layers exist in the old snowpack especially on steep northwest, north and northeast facing slopes.

Tendency

As a consequence of warming during the day the prevalence of the avalanche prone locations will increase as the day progresses.
